While ago I had this most delightful photoshoot in Pera Palace Istanbul. I got a chance to meet this amazing business woman, Demet Sabancı Çetindoğanso. I’m so grateful that i got to meet you and spend time with you and enjoy these beautiful surroundings in Pera Palace Hotel.

One of the must-visit hotels in Istanbul is the luxurious Pera Palace Hotel Jumeirah located in the Beyoğlu district. It is a hotel filled with history and elegance – the hotel, first opened in 1892, is nowadays restored as both museum and hotel. It holds the title of the oldest European hotel of Turkey.

The hotel was designed by Alexandre Vallaury for the purpose of hosting the passengers of the Orient
Express and named after the place it was located. Vallaury was a French-Turkish architect who blended
neo-classical, art nouveau and oriental styles to create an elegant meeting point for the celebrities of the early 20th century. One of the most famous guests included Greta Garbo, Alfred Hitchcock, Agatha Christie and Ernest Hemingway. In Hemingway’s short story The Snows of Kilimanjaro, the main character, writer Harry, stays at the Pera Palace hotel while serving in the military during the Allied occupation of Constantinople (Istanbul) in World War I.

And still even today the hotel is a buzzing meeting point in Istanbul. The setting couldn’t really get any more luxurious: as you walk the white marble steps from the foyer to the heart of the hotel, Kubbeli Saloon, you can enjoy a traditional afternoon tea served by sleek waitresses accompanied by piano music. You can imagine being a character in one of Agatha Christie’s novels.
